FINANCIAL SERVICES

Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) has introduced the Care-Work Loan Program, an initiative developed in collaboration with A Place to Grow, a growing NH-based child care organization. The program is designed to provide financial assistance and resources specifically tailored for licensed child care providers to allow them to establish and grow sustainable, child-focused centers within their community.

Claremont Savings Bank has appointed two new members to its board of trustees: Greg Soho, co-owner and CFO of Granite Air Center, and Noah Souza, leader of IT DevOps at Hypertherm. Joining as new corporators are Joshua Dufresne, CEO of North Star Health; Nancy Merrill, who previously served as the director of planning and economic development for Claremont; and Jeremy St. Pierre, president of St. Pierre Inc.

Gary W. Pelletier, an independent financial advisor at Northeast Planning Associates in Nashua, has been recognized by Forbes as one of the 2025 Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, for the eighth consecutive year. Advisors selected for the list were assessed on a variety of criteria, including years of experience, community involvement and client retention data. Pelletier has been providing financial services to throughout northern New England for more than 40 years, providing corporate, estate and financial planning for individuals, families and businesses, with offices in Nashua and Manchester, NH.

Holy Rosary Credit Union has promoted James Auger to assistant vice president (AVP) of special accounts, Chris Maxwell to AVP of human resources and Sydney Albee to director of markeing.

New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp (NHMB) has named its new corporators: Patrick Cate, president of Lakes Region Community College; Julianna Dodson, executive director of the Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship; Andrew Hartmann, a semi-retired business professional who founded Hartmann Oil and Propane; Dr. Tae Kwon, a part-time lecturer at Harvard; Mark Rebillard, owner of Deep Roots Massage & Bodywork; and Gail Somers, an accounting consultant and founder of the Keene Multicultural Center.

Carine Abbott has joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust as branch relationship manager for the Bank’s locations on Hanover Street and Heater Road in Lebanon. She has more than 20 years of experience in management and customer relations, with leadership roles at Capital Pizza Hut and Rent-A-Center.

Sergio Alvares joins BaldwinClarke with over 15 years of experience specializing in financial management, business valuation and M&A advisory. Prior to joining BaldwinClarke, he most recently served at the Vermont Small Business Development Center, and was also a senior associate at JPMorgan Chase. Alvares holds an MBA in finance, a master’s in business analytics and information management, and is a certified valuation analyst (CVA).

Massachusetts-based NESC Credit Union received approval to convert to a community charter, expanding membership to more communities across Essex and Middlesex counties in Massachusetts, as well as Rockingham and Hillsborough counties in New Hampshire. New members will have access to competitive loans, convenient banking options and the latest digital tools.


HEALTH CARE

West Central Behavioral Health in Lebanon has received the official designation as a New Hampshire state-certified community behavioral health clinic (CCBHC). Through the CCBHC model, West Central will now be able to serve more individuals, including those who are uninsured or underinsured, without compromising quality or continuity of care. The agency will implement the model in phases beginning on July 1.

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, a Point32Health company, has announced it is expanding its collaboration with ProgenyHealth, LLC, a tech-enabled women’s health care company dedicated to maternity and NICU care management. ProgenyHealth will now provide Harvard Pilgrim’s infant members with case management during and after their time in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) or special care nursery, for a full year. Harvard Pilgrim first began working with ProgenyHealth in 2019, initially providing care management to NICU infants and families during an inpatient stay through the first 60 days following birth. ProgenyHealth case managers also connect families to important resources for those experiencing lack of transportation, food insecurity, and utility and rent issues. Case managers have also helped members find access to free or discounted supplies needed for their babies, including cribs and diapers.

The Education Alliance for New Hampshire recently awarded Concord Hospital

Health System (CHHS) the 2025 Presidents’ Community Partner Award in celebration of CHHS’s collaboration with New England College to educate and train the next generation of nurses. The award celebrated CHHS’s New England College’s Cooperative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, which allows nursing students to gain hands-on training from the start of their education. Under the program, New England College students serve as licensed nursing assistants (LNAs) and student nurses during their clinical cooperative experiences at one of Concord Hospital Health System’s campuses, learning directly from a licensed registered nurse preceptor.

Rotating between the classroom and hospitals, BSN students earn their degrees in this accelerated three-year model.

Currently in its sixth year, the NH Healthcare Heroes, which honors the dedication, courage and commitment of those working in health care, is now accepting nominations through May 15. Any member of the health care workforce in New Hampshire resident is eligible, including medical and nursing staff, food service workers, environmental services, dentists and their staff, personal care attendants, and those that educate the healthcare workforce. NONPROFITS

The Nash Casino, New Hampshire’s largest charitable gaming venue, presented a combined $1.5 million in contributions to eight New Hampshire nonprofit organizations during a brief check presentation ceremony on April 22, 2025. The funds were generated from a percentage of games of chance and historical horse racing (HHR) machine revenues during the first four weeks of operating. Recipients included: Nashua Children’s Home, $211,998.79; Corpus Christi Food Pantry, $211,998.79; NH Police, Fire & EMS Foundation, $187,982.48; Welcoming Light, $187,982.48; Nashua Regional Cancer Center, $192,288.90; Operation Care for Troops, $192,288.90; Nashua Community Arts, $201,139.27; and Bring Back the Trades, $201,139.27.

Albacore Park in Portsmouth has welcomed its new executive director, Dean Savramis. Previously, Savramis had a 28 year-long career with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region I office in Boston, Mass. Before joining FEMA, he worked for the Department of the Navy at the Naval Air Station in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was responsible for the repair, renovation and new construction of Naval Air Station infrastructure including residential, commercial and light industrial facilities. Prior to that, he worked at two of the nation’s naval shipyards (Portsmouth and Mare Island) where he was part of the Nuclear Engineering Department responsible for the refueling of nuclear propulsion plants onboard U.S. Naval Submarines.

On April 16, the Manchester Historic Association (MHA) opened a new exhibition: “All Bottled Up!

The History of Bottling in Manchester” at the Millyard Museum as part of the organization’s 129th Annual Meeting. With over 200 glass bottles from Manchester on display, representing over 50 different bottling businesses, this exhibit looks at the history of the many liquor, soda, dairy and other bottling businesses in the city over the years. The exhibit also includes an original board game, “Manchester Milk Man Madness!” that can be played in the Marylou Lazos Kids Corner at the museum. The exhibit will run through August 17.

Late 2024, Merrimack Country Savings Bank (The Merrimack) contributed $10,600 to Family Promise of Southern New Hampshire to help finance the expansion of their Transitional Housing Program. Funded through the Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA), the nonprofit was working on renovating a second facility in Derry to increase access to critical services for families within the region. The facility will house up to nine families, who will also receive the counseling, education and support needed to regain stability and achieve long-term success.


AGRICULTURE

The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC) has announced the new Catalyzing Regional Dairy Workforce Grant program, an $800,000 grant opportunity to help expand dairy workforce development programming in the Northeast. Grants are available to applicants in all Northeast states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. Educational institutions, manufacturing extension training centers, federally and state-registered apprenticeship and other training programs, nonprofits, producer or trade associations, and dairy processors are all invited to apply for funding. Applications are being accepted through June 5 at 2 p.m. at nedairyinnovation.com/dairy-workforce-grant/.


REAL ESTATE

The Boulos Company recently announced the successful sale of 137 Portsmouth Ave. in Stratham to MacVogel Enterprises LLC, which plans to establish an emergency veterinary clinic alongside its existing pet dermatology services. Bill Riffert of eXp Realty represented the buyer in this transaction.

Corinne and Mark Ray have joined the real estate firm of Badger Peabody & Smith Realty based out of their North Conway office. Corinne Ray has built a strong reputation for her work in residential and investment properties, and Mark Ray is a former police chief and 30-year Army veteran, who complements Corinne’s work with his practical knowledge and handson approach. He is also an active member in the local real estate community and serves on the White Mountain Board of Realtors as the president-elect. The Rays will be working closely with longtime North Conway agent Tara Peirce, who is helping them integrate into the Badger Peabody & Smith systems.


MEDIA

Alisha McDevitt, longtime news director of WMUR-TV, the Hearst Television ABC affiliate in Manchester, has been promoted to WMUR president and general manager. McDevitt, who has been with WMUR for 30 years, succeeds Andrew Vrees, who recently was named president and general manager of WCVB-TV, Hearst’s ABC affiliate in Boston. McDevitt serves on the board of the Radio Television Digital News Association and on the ABC News Advisory Board. She was named the NH Association of Broadcasters “Broadcaster of the Year” in 2019.


UTILITIES

For the third year in a row, Eversource Energy has been recognized by USA TODAY and Statista Inc. as one of America’s Climate Leaders for 2025. Eversource ranked No. 146 overall (out of 150), and ranked No. 1 among energy companies and utilities nationwide for the highest core emissions reduction year-over-year.


ARCHITECTURE

Michael Pritchard, project manager and BIM manager for Bonin Architects & Associates, has received the Up-and-Coming Talent (Under 40) award at the 2025 New Hampshire Home Design Awards, an award program produced by New Hampshire Home Magazine, a sister publication of NH Business Review under the umbrella of Yankee Publishing Inc. New Hampshire Group. The award celebrates professionals under 40 making impactful contributions to architecture and design in the state.


ENGINEERING

Katie Servis has joined Hoyle Tanner’s aviation division as the new manager of airport planning. She previously spent five years with Hoyle Tanner in the early 2000s and another private firm before becoming a senior environmental analyst with MassDOT Aeronautics for six years.

Most recently, Katie managed Cape Cod Gateway Airport. She will lead the planning group on projects ranging from airport master plans, to passenger facility charge programs, advanced air mobility studies, land and easement acquisition services and airport business planning.


EDUCATION

Back in December, Paul Beaudin was named as Manchester Community College’s new president. Beaudin’s professional experience in higher education includes most recently serving as provost and vice president of academic affairs at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill and Lawrence, Massachusetts. Beaudin also served within the State University of New York (SUNY) system from 2015-2021, Iona College, Manhattan College, Fordham University and Seton Hall University. He also served as district superintendent for the Bronx Catholic Schools, with responsibility for 62 elementary schools enrolling 25,000 students.


Citizens names new president for NH & VT

Citizens has named veteran banker Marc Lubelczyk as its New Hampshire and Vermont president, succeeding Joseph Carelli, who retired from the bank after 30 years with the company. A New Hampshire native, Lubelczyk began his career at Citizens in 1993, and over the last 32 years has held roles within corporate banking. Lubelczyk is a member of the board of trustees at Waypoint, and received his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.
