STRATHAM: Shoe apparel company Timberland was ranked No. 1 in the state for companies succeeding with employee retention, based on a survey of over 3,000 workers conducted by Careerminds, a global outplacement and career development firm. Timberland ranked highly for its Path of Service program, which offers employees paid time off to volunteer in the community, as well as its strong benefits package, and its social responsibility values. W.S. Badger in Gilsum was ranked No. 2 in the survey, and Hanover-based Hypertherm Associates came in at No. 3.

CONCORD: The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) released its 4th Annual Energy Affordability Report, an analysis of energy prices across the U.S., in which New Hampshire finished 46th overall with an average cost of 21.07 cents per kilowatt hour. The report examines key factors influencing electricity prices, including how energy is generated, delivered and regulated. It also compares pricing across states with and without restrictive energy policies such as renewable portfolio standards, cap-and-trade programs like the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, and state-mandated net metering.

MANCHESTER: Hope for NH Recovery’s highly anticipated gala, scheduled for May 15 at The Venues at The Factory in Manchester, has sold out within a week of ticket release. In collaboration with the event’s legacy sponsor Avenues Recovery Center along with board members, staff, volunteers and Jeanne Venuti of Venuti Resin Design, Hope for NH Recovery will use the funds raised at the gala to fuel its efforts of providing critical support and resources to individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder.

NASHUA: BAE Systems honored its top suppliers for the Electronic Systems sector with the eighth annual Partner 2 Win program’s Supplier of the Year awards. Thirteen winners were selected for best-in-class performance in achieving on-time delivery and quality standards in 2024, as well as partnering with BAE Systems to advance and provide technology-led aerospace, defense, and security solutions to its customers. Among the winners included NH-based companies: Linear & Metric LLC, awarded with the Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions award, and TEMCO Precision Machining, recipient of the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the Year award.

MANCHESTER: As part of an effort to keep Granite Staters aware of what is happening in their communities and Washington, D.C., WMUR-TV is producing a new series, “Conversation with the Community,” in partnership with the NH Institute of Politics. The series invites members of the NH Congressional Delegation and the Governor to participate in forums with Granite Staters at the WMUR-TV studios. The conversations begin with a short interview with WMUR’s Political Director Adam Sexton, followed by questions from an in-studio audience, as well as questions submitted online from viewers across the state. The forums are broadcast on WMUR and streamed on the station’s digital platforms. The first event, featuring Congressman Pappas, is scheduled for April 24.
