RISING health care costs in New Hampshire are causing residents financial strain, a survey by the Healthcare Value Hub reported in collaboration with Concord nonprofit New Futures. Out of 1,300 residents, 71% said they have delayed or gone without health care over the past 12 months due to costs. Just over half (53%) said they are worried about affording the cost of their prescription drugs.

THE majority of U.S. workers rely on secondary income to make ends meet, a total 71%, MyPerfectResume found in a new report surveying 1,065 Americans. Of them, 39% run side businesses, while the remaining 32% work a second job in addition to primary employment. Nearly half (49%) said secondary jobs have hurt their focus and performance at their main jobs.

ACCORDING to data from AltIndex.com, machine learning is predicted to reach a half-trillion-dollar valuation by 2030 as it leads the AI industry’s growth, or a 535% increase. The market reached nearly $80 billion in value in 2024, 55% more than in 2023. Machine learning currently makes up 42% of the AI industry’s total value, but is anticipated to hit 60% by the decade’s end.

NEARLY a quarter of hiring managers find recent college grads unprepared for the workforce (24%), analysts at Intelligent.com learned in a survey of 1,000 managers for entry-level positions. A third say graduates lack work ethic, and 55% reported having to fire a recent college graduate in 2024.

FROM surveying 9,201 U.S. adults ahead of the 2024 presidential election in August, the Pew Research Center found that nearly half of Americans say legal immigration into the U.S. should remain as is. Of them, 42% said high-skilled workers (doctors, scientists, computer programmers, etc.) should be prioritized. Meanwhile, 58% said those from countries poorly represented in the U.S. population should not be given any priority.
