1. In October, Manchester restaurant Mr. Mac’s held its annual Mac Gives Back fundraiser, donating $1,000 each to the Boys & Girls Club of Manchester, shown, and the Manchester Police Athletic League in early November. The fundraiser pledges a donation of $1 for every Take & Bake order of Mr. Mac’s macaroni and cheese made every October.

2. Members of the Propeller Club of Portsmouth gathered at the Atlantic Grill in Rye on Nov. 21, to celebrate its 50th anniversary. U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Matt Baker, right, presented co-founder Capt. Dick Holt Sr., left, with the U.S. Coast Guard Meritorious Public Service Commendation. The club is a resource and forum for the Port of New Hampshire’s waterborne commerce and the marine industry.

3. Just under 550 Seacoast families lined up at Portsmouth food security nonprofit Gather for its annual Thanksgiving distribution event to receive fresh produce, canned goods, turkeys, chocolates and pies totaling nearly 24,000 pounds. Gather’s culinary team cooks and bakes foods, shared to the public by volunteers. Additionally, the nonprofit Alliance for Greater Good donated winter gear to food recipients in need.

5. Last month, the Bedford Knights of Columbus and St. Elizabeth Seton Church raised more than $16,000 in support of the New Hampshire Food Bank, during the 2024 Turkey Drive led by Catholic Charities NH. The Bedford Knights have raised close to $235,000 for over 16 years to aid holiday food needs around the state. 6. Merrimack County Savings Bank has supported the expansion of Henniker’s nonprofit White Birch Center with a $50,000 contribution in tax credits through the Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA). The White Birch Center offers learning and active living programs for children, adults and families. The credits will aid the purchase and renovation of an additional building in town, pictured, to serve as a new child care facility, adding 13-15 infant spaces.

7. National senior housing investor and advisory firm Continuum Advisors recently facilitated the sale of Meredith Bay Colony Club. Lakes Region nonprofit Taylor Community bought the community for $11 million on Nov. 26, plus about $10.5 million in resident entrance fee refund liabilities. Over 11 acres of the Meredith property are an 85-unit continuing care retirement community with various amenities, and over 18 acres are undeveloped for future expansion.
