1. Bridgewater, Massachusetts-based company Callahan Construction Managers held a ribbon-cutting on Nov. 7 for 75 Canal, its newest 250-unit residential development in Manchester. The 2.3-acre property, replacing several former buildings at the intersection of Depot Street and Hampshire Lane, also features retail space, underground parking, fireside lounges, a game room and work pods. Callahan collaborated with private equity firm Jones Street Investment Partners on the project.

2. Humble Warrior Power Yoga raised nearly $11,000 to help cancer patients at Elliot Health System access cold-cap therapy, which aids in preventing hair loss during chemotherapy. Funds were donated during classes as part of the Silver Linings Project, supported by the Mary & John Elliot Charitable Foundation. A class at Humble Warrior’s Exeter location is pictured.

3. The nonprofit Franconia Soaring Association was recently awarded $10,000 in tax credits by Meredith Village Savings Bank through the NH Community Development Finance Authority for its new 6,600-square-foot Training and Operations Center at the Franconia Airport. 4. Southern NH Services Inc. recently opened an Opportunity Center in Manchester with a ribbon-cutting, announcing that its agency will be renamed Community Action Partnership Hillsborough and Rockingham Counties (CAPHR). The center will offer access to services like the Women Infant and Children (WIC) program, the Fuel Assistance Program and computer resources.

5. Over 70 Nashua teens in grades 6-12 consumed nearly 1,000 chicken tenders at Nashua restaurant USA Chicken & Biscuit, making the business the winner of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua’s inaugural Tender Games. Teens participated in a blind taste test among other 10 local eateries and national chains, determining which one cooked the chicken. 6. The NH Community Loan Fund and ROC-NH hosted the biennial Co-ops Celebrating Community Conference at the Grappone Conference Center on Concord on Oct. 26. The event attracted around 100 resident-owned community members and board members from five states to participate in workshops, networking opportunities and speaker engagements. Ten ROC members (six shown) received the Above & Beyond Award for contributions to their communities, while Tanglewood Park Cooperative in Keene received the Resiliency Award for recovery from July storm damage.

7. The 19th Annual Seacoast Half Marathon welcomed more than 900 runners around the Northeast to Portsmouth, Rye and New Castle on Oct. 19, raising over $120,000 from proceeds for Mainspring: The Seacoast Social Service Collective. Mainspring is a new initiative overhauling how social service organizations in the Seacoast collaborate, including food and housing insecurity, veterans affairs, medical/mental health and substance recovery.
