IN an October report, WalletHub ranked New Hampshire the second-safest state in America, under Vermont and above Maine. The site listed the Granite State second because of little violence, with 78% of residents indicating they feel they live in safe neighborhoods — the highest nationwide. Also, NH residents have an average credit score of 748, the second-best in America.

DESPITE increasing cyberattacks, most companies have failed to strengthen their online security measures, analysts at Cybernews found. The cybersecurity outlet reports that 63% of more than 1,000 companies analyzed worldwide score a D-grade or worse for their measures. The health care industry is most vulnerable, with 70% of reviewed companies receiving a D-grade or lower.

JUST over half of Americans say they are no better off than 4 years ago, according to Gallup, surveying 1,023 randomly sampled U.S. adults in September. Of them, 52% said they were no better off, 39% felt better off and only 9% felt about the same as in 2020. Gallup attributes a higher-than-usual “worse off ” response to Republicans’ greater likelihood to say this than opponents of the incumbent party had been during past election years.

AFTER surveying 1,258 full-time U.S. workers in October, ResumeTemplates.com found that slightly over half of workers plan on finding or starting a new job next year, seeking better work-life balance, compensation and job security. A third said they would quit their current role if they didn’t have a job lined up, but 8 in 10 are confident in finding a new position.

LOOKING toward the holiday season, nearly three-quarters of Americans say inflation will affect their winter travel this year, or 72%, WalletHub reported using an online survey of 220 respondents. About half of them added they’re saddling debt from last winter, with 52% feeling that winter travel is worth going into debt for.
