1. The New Hampshire Liquor Commission (NHLC) revealed a bottle, designed by M.S. Walker Fine Wines & Spirits, commemorating the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway, which opened in 1938 and is North America’s first and oldest tramway. The bottle is sold at every NH Liquor & Wine Outlet and contains straight bourbon whiskey from Flag Hill Distillery & Winery in Lee. Proceeds support the state’s American Revolution Sestercentennial Trust Fund, which organizes American Revolution tribute events. Shown are Gov. 2. The nonprofit Children’s Museum of New Hampshire in Dover held its annual Teddy Bear Clinic on Aug. 2. The event invites young ones to bring their stuffed plush animals to the museum for “check-ups” given by Portsmouth Regional Hospital volunteers. The volunteers administered “shots” and “stitches” to plushies and gave children medical advice and encouragement. 3. Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) recently presented a $500 check to the Arts in Motion Theater Company based in North Conway, which offers theatrical performances and youth camps throughout the Mount Washington Valley. 4. Bethesda, Maryland-based hotel chain Choices Hotels International, Inc. opened one of its newest Cambria Hotel properties on June 6 in North Conway. The upscale hotel offers 115 guest rooms, an indoor pool, a 1,550-square-foot meeting space, and is in the downtown area along Route 302. It is among over 70 other hotels nationwide that share the Cambria branding.
5. Rochester credit union HRCU recently announced a record 14 recipients, pictured, of its HRCU Annual Scholarship for 2024. The $1,000 individual scholarships were distributed to high school and college students, employee children and participants in HRCU’s Banking and Financial Services Program. HRCU has awarded 278 scholarships totaling $280,000 since 1996.
6. Secondwind Water Systems, Inc., of Manchester is celebrating its 35th anniversary in business, growing from a home-based startup founded in 1989 to a statewide water treatment company serving over 10,000 residential, commercial and public water system clients. 7. U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen met with small businesses from New Hampshire in Farnborough, England, on July 22 in attendance at the Farnborough International Airshow. The state’s Office of International Commerce allows New Hampshire exhibitors to appear at the event through funding by STEP, the State Trade Expansion Program, which has offered $235.5 million in export assistance to New Hampshire small businesses since its founding in 2010.
