1. BankProv has invested $65,000 to NH organizations addressing housing, workforce and child care needs. Granite United Way will distribute the funds to local agencies NeighborWorks Southern NH, Liberty House, Families in Transition, Granite YMCA and Building Community in NH. 2. Elan Charitable Giving, the donation initiative of Elan Credit Card, donated $12,500 to Court Appointed Special Advocates of New Hampshire (CASA) as part of a $375,000 campaign benefiting 30 communities nationwide. Elan selected Bank of New Hampshire to be a campaign partner, which chose CASA New Hampshire to receive support. 3. Badger Peabody & Smith Realty recently held its annual staff award celebration at the Mountain View Grand Resort in Whitefield. Top agents at each office were awarded for sales numbers and growth, for volunteerism and determination in the firm and industry. 4. The Cogswell Benevolent Trust recently awarded $25,000 to COAST (the Cooperative Alliance for Seacoast Transportation) to support the final design and construction of the nonprofit’s planned administration, operations and maintenance facility in Dover. The Dover Planning Board recently approved the facility’s site plan and conditional use permit.


5. Linda Walker, a Realtor at Badger Peabody & Smith, received the “Good Neighbor Award” from the firm during its annual awards gala for her community volunteer work. Walker, still a full-time agent today, was the agency’s first woman employee hired 44 years ago. Her volunteerism includes work with the White Mountain Health Center’s Christmas Stocking Project, nonprofit Arts Jubilee and the White Mountain Board of Realtors’ “End 68 Hours of Hunger” fundraiser.


6. Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover has awarded a $10,000 community benefit grant to Lydia’s House of Hope (LHOH), a 365-day residential program for homeless women and children, many of whom have experienced extreme poverty, domestic violence and substance use disorder. 7. Granite VNA is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, beginning with a “Passion for Caring” fundraising event on May 1 at the Barn at Bull Meadow in Concord. The agency will also run a historical series on Facebook and LinkedIn. Granite VNA was founded in 1899 by nurse Katherine Hill (pictured) and a handful of volunteers to serve Concord residents. It now employs more than 400 staff members and 150 volunteers.
