EMPLOYEES may be receiving smaller raises in 2024, according to a ResumeBuilder.com survey of 600 business leaders. The survey found that 26% of companies may not or will not give raises next year, and just over half of leaders anticipate layoffs. In 2023, 53% of respondents said they were cautious about the role of AI in their lives. Teens aged 13-17 felt using OpenAI’s ChatGPT was acceptable to research topics, but not to write essays — meanwhile, adults opposed using AI in most workplace applications like hiring processes and monitoring workers’ movements.

THE Manchester–Nashua area was ranked 10th in a Commercial Search study of America’s 30 best-positioned metros for career advancement opportunities. The area had the second lowest unemployment rate at 2.3%, and its percentage of high-qualified jobs grew by 7.5% between 2021-2022, adding 2,120 employees. Metrics were based on factors like graduation rates, labor market conditions and the quality of universities in the area.

NEW Hampshire was ranked third in states with the best internet access in a recent study by NetworkBuildz. The study found that the state has the most affordable internet in the nation at an average of $50 per month, and average download speeds measured at 221.39 megabytes per second, while upload speeds hovered around 23.89 megabytes per second.
