1. Meredith Village Savings Bank is supporting Squam Lakes Natural Science Center with a $5,000 sponsorship for its 2023 Family Picnic fundraising event that took place in July. 2. St. Mary’s Bank Charitable Foundation awarded $5,338 to Stepping Stones, Greater Nashua’s only drop-in center for homeless youth aged 25 and under, so the organization can provide two youths with six months of services including food, clothing, and access to a shower and laundry. In the first half of 2023, the Daniel Webster Council received more than $14,000 in monetary and in-kind donations from community business and nonprofits such as Eversource, the Fuller Foundation, Manchester Kiwanis Club, Queen City Rotary and the NRA Foundation. The YMCA of Greater Nashua received a $25,000 Community Impact Grant from New York Life to support the YMCA’s Power Scholars Academy, which helps at-risk youth gain ground in reading, writing, STEM and math. 5. An Acton, Maine, resident named David T. won the largest jackpot to date at Filotimo Casino in Dover for $123,475.65. He plans to invest most of his winnings and put the remainder into savings. Rebels For A Cause, NH Group’s charitable program, has been able to distribute more charitable gaming donations in the first half of 2023 than all of last year — with more than $4.6 million in charitable donations to 175 local nonprofits



6. Eversource provided funding for Seacoast Science Center to purchase four kayaks to allow for greater accessibility for its Wildlife Kayak Tours program. Eversource has also underwritten a new program, Nature @ Nite, slated to launch in September, which will be offered one Friday per month for free, with SSC naturalists and partners will host marine-related, STEAM learning stations and other programs.



7. Merrimack County Savings Bank held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of their eighth branch at 1B Wall Street in Windham. The branch, located off Exit 3 on I-93, is a full-service branch, with a drive-up ATM and night drop. Lead by bank branch president Linda Lorden, the Merrimack’s new location will help to better serve individuals, families and businesses in Southern New Hampshire.
