New Hampshire the Beautiful Inc. has approved recycling grants to Coos County Recycling, which services five transfer stations in the Coos County area: the towns of Rollinsford, Dunbarton, Weare, Washington and Northwood.
Brian Quinn, a former Concord resident, has arranged a $20,000 donation to boost the NH Preservation Alliance’s effort to restore Concord’s historic gasholder. Quinn arranged for his employer, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, to make the discretionary grant.
Spaulding Academy & Family Services recently added Cathy Cullity and Charles Lloyd to its board of directors. Cullity spent over 23 years as the CEO for Girls Inc., and Lloyd is the president of White Mountains Community College.
MacDowell, which operates the MacDowell Colony artists’ retreat in Peterborough, the nation’s first artist residency program, has elected Christine Fisher as president of its board of directors. Fisher, who first joined the board in 2015, replaces outgoing president Andrew M. Senchak, who has held the post since 2017.
The Newburyport Bank Charitable Foundation has made a $10,000 donation to the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests’ Education Center at Creek Farm, in Portsmouth, to support infrastructure improvements of the 36-acre conservation property.
Lawrence Morgan of Concord is the new president and executive director for the Board of Directors of Two Villages Art Society, a nonprofit, member-driven arts organization in Hopkinton with a gallery in Contoocook.

The board of directors of Endurans Solar, a manufacturer of materials for solar photovoltaic modules, has added Steve O’Neil, who has over 20 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, most recently as CEO of REC Group and advisor for Nel Hydrogen, Solestial and SERIS (the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore).
HomeStyle Heating of Barrington has launched as a fully licensed and insured HVAC company, providing comprehensive service and installation of boilers, furnaces, space heaters and water heaters.
The company serves customers in Strafford County and the Seacoast region. Founded by Ryan Perry, who has several years of industry experience, the business offers a one-year warranty on parts and labor as well as 24-hour emergency services.

LMC, the largest building materials and forest products buying co-op in North America formerly known as the Lumbermen’s Merchandising Corporation, has announced that Mark Torrisi, president of Jackson Lumber & Millwork, has been elected as chair of its board of directors. Jackson Lumber & Millwork has a millwork manufacturing facility in Raymond, NH, as well as lumberyards and retail stores in Amesbury, Woburn and Lawrence in Massachusetts.

Digital marketing agency Raka, Portsmouth, has launched a new division, Raka Health, that it says will provide technology solutions and strategic digital marketing foundations for the healthcare and life science industries. “This new division allows us to carve out a team of experts focused on the specific and regulated needs of our healthcare clients,” said Raka partner Duncan Craig.
Brooke Wilson of Derry has joined Just Flow Events & Marketing, a full-service strategic marketing agency, as a social media communications specialist. She was previously the marketing manager for a local hockey team, and holds a bachelor’s in marketing communications and a master’s in sport leadership from Endicott College.
Liam Roberge has joined wedü as vice president of agency growth. Most recently, he was head of customer relations at SubItUp, where he oversaw marketing, client and new business growth.

NH Legal Assistance was recently awarded $738,000 from the NH Bar Foundation’s IOLTA Grants Program to provide civil legal aid to people with low income. IOLTA (Interest On Lawyers’ Trust Accounts) grants are funded by interest from bank accounts lawyers use to temporarily hold clients’ funds, such as escrow for real estate purchases.
Boston personal injury law firm Parker Scheer LLP is expanding to New Hampshire with the addition of Portsmouth-based attorney Amanda M. Frederick. A longtime New Hampshire resident, Frederick focuses her practice on a wide range of personal injury matters, including automobile accidents, slip and falls, premises liability, products liability, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse/neglect cases, wrongful death claims and general civil litigation.
The law firm of McLane Middleton has hired attorneys Catherine E. Napjus and Joshua D. Sandler. Napjus is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, where she focuses her practice on patent preparation and prosecution and trademark prosecution and enforcement.
Sandler, an associate in the firm’s Tax Department, has advised a wide range of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, tax-exempt organizations and individuals, on tax controversy and transactional matters.
ARCHITECTURE
Misiaszek Turpin Architects, Laconia, has announced the promotion of Jared Guilmett to associate partner/principal architect. The change comes alongside the firm’s newly completed rebrand, including a new logo, updates to the firm’s mission and vision, and a new website that went live in early April.
EDUCATION
The board of directors of the Regional Services and Education Center (RSEC) recently named Sarah Dupuis as the new director of Sunrise Children’s Center in Amherst. Dupuis has been serving as interim director of RSEC’s early childhood education program for two months and will assume the new position on July 1.
ENGINEERING
Manchester-based engineering firm Hoyle, Tanner & Associates Inc. has announced the promotions of Michelle Carrozzella to chief financial officer and Matthew Low to chief operations officer. Carrozzella has worked for HTA for the last seven years as director of finance and has more than 25 years of experience in finance positions. Low has been the firm’s director of engineering operations over the last eight years, and before that led the bridge team.

Savings Bank of Walpole has announced that Jason Houston, a principal at John Burk & Associates of Keene, has been named chair of its board of directors, and Mark Gavin, chief financial officer at SoClean, Peterborough, has been elected vice chair. Houston served as vice chair for the past three years and succeeds Joseph Coneeny of Walpole, who served three one-year terms as chair. Coneeny will continue to serve on the SBW Board of Directors.
BankProv has hired Lisa Gainty as vice president of business development for retail banking. She has nearly three decades of experience in financial services, including working at TD Bank and Citizens Bank.
NHTrust welcomed Larissa Georgoulakos to the company as a financial associate based out of the bank’s Concord office at 89 North Main Street. Previously, she worked as a customer relationship advocate with Fidelity Investments as well as an associate team leader at H&R Block.
Marc Fils-Aime has joined Meredith Village Savings Bank as branch and business development manager at the bank’s Center Harbor office. HRCU, a credit union headquartered in Rochester, was recently honored by MemberXP, a customer experience program offered by CU Solutions Group, as one of North America’s best credit unions for its performance in two categories: new member experience and mortgage loan experience. A new e-commerce startup, junedays, based in Meredith, has been launched by Nicole Verspyck. It offers a line of accessories for boating and entertaining outdoors. The products, which include a range of foldable coolers and storage solutions, are designed to be compact, modular, stylish and durable, Verspyck said.
HEALTHCARE
Catholic Medical Center’s cancer program has been granted a three-year reaccreditation by the Commission on Cancer, a quality-assessment program of the American College of Surgeons. To earn accreditation, a cancer program must meet 34 quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a survey process, and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care. CMC has been accredited by the commission since 1976.
REAL ESTATE
Danielle Ventre has joined Badger Peabody & Smith Realty and will be based at the firm’s North Conway office. Ventre, who also is a licensed real estate agent in Massachusetts, has a background in business management, accounting and finance in the construction industry.
Lake Homes Realty, an Alabama-based real estate company that specializes in lakefront properties across the country, has branched out and launched Beach Homes Realty and a new website, Beach-Homes.com, that it says will help homebuyers and sellers find beachfront, beach-view and beach-access homes easier. It features over 68,000 coastal properties across 14 states from Texas to New Hampshire, the company said.
HOSPITALITY
Local dignitaries were on hand to celebrate the grand opening of the new Fairfield Inn & Suites hotel in North Conway. Among those in attendance were local Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce members, city officials, Mt. Washington Valley President Rob Clark, Fairbank Group Chair Brian Fairbank and Cranmore Mountain Resort President Ben Wilcox, along with hotel owners Richard Lafrance, chairman of Lafrance Hospitality, and Tim Burkhardt, vice president of lodging and development of Lafrance.
Green Heart Hospitality has opened The Elms Restaurant and Bar at the New London Inn, with executive chef Ken Cazenas and general manager Kate Holt at the helm. Cazenas will also be the executive chef of the Oak & Grain Restaurant at the Inn at Pleasant Lake.

NH Public Radio journalists have been honored with five 2023 Edward R. Murrow Regional Awards: digital excellence award for “Visibles,” a series reported by Gaby Lozada from “¿Qué Hay de Nuevo, New Hampshire?”; excellence in writing award for “When rents at 5 Chapel Street went up, a group of NH tenants tried to fight back” by Todd Bookman; news documentary award for “After the Avalanche,” reported and produced by Jessica Hunt for the “Outside/In” podcast series; investigative reporting award for Lauren Chooljian’s story, “He Built NH’s Largest Addiction Treatment Network. Now, He Faces Accusations of Sexual Misconduct”; and news series award for “In Our Backyard,” a series on the state of local democracy in New Hampshire.
The NH Fiscal Policy Institute has named Nicole Heller to its research team as senior policy analyst.
She joins NHFPI from Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., where she spent nearly seven years as an associate professor of psychology.
Prior to Siena, she was a visiting professor at Colby-Sawyer College in New London.
