1. Last month, Easterseals NH, VT & Farnum held its 10th Annual Spirit of Hope event to benefit Farnum, New Hampshire’s comprehensive alcohol and other drug addiction treatment program. Additionally, the Eliot Priest Founders Award was given to Roberta Coutu, a longtime Farnum employee, for her commitment to supporting individuals with substance use disorders. 2. Last week, Stonyfield Organic celebrated the expansion of their Londonderry plant, which will help the company meet the growing demand of their organic yogurt pouches by doubling its output. 3. NHTrust has become the title sponsor for the Champions for Kids Breakfast hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central NH (BGCCNH) for the next five years for a total of $50,000. The event will take place this year at St. Paul’s School in Concord at the Athletic and Fitness Center on June 20. 4. Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) has supported Humble Grunt Work and their capital campaign to build a new Meredith Veterans Memorial with an initial $25,000 donation to the project in early 2022 and recently matched that for a total of $50,000. 5. Federal insurance and benefits administrator FedPoint hosted an award ceremony May 10 at its Portsmouth headquarters to recognize the inaugural recipients of the annual FedPoint Nursing Scholarship. FedPoint selected three graduating high school students and one student entering graduate school to each receive $5,000 towards their tuition as they pursue their career in nursing. 6. On May 9, St. Joseph Hospital was presented the Gate City Light Award by Mayor Jim Donchess and the City of Nashua’s Mayor’s Volunteer Recognition Committee, which recognizes an organization and its volunteers for their contributions to the people of Nashua.
7. The Community Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC) held its 2023 Annual Meeting on May 17, where the organization honored the Cooperative Alliance for Seacoast Transportation (COAST) as the Champion Award winner for the many ways it connects people in Strafford and Rockingham counties, as well as Denise Day, a family advocate and CAPSC employee for 16 years, who was named this year’s Mission Award winner (pictured at left with CAPSC CEO Betsey Andrews Parker). The event also included a keynote address from New Hampshire Kid Governor Haydin Simmons, a Plaistow fifth-grader working to eliminate poverty and hunger in the state.
