1. Architecture, engineering and construction management firm PROCON has received an Excellence in Construction Eagle Award and National Design-Build Award for their design-build project of the Tufts University Joyce Cummings Center in Medford, Mass. The new 150,000-square-foot, seven-story academic building nestled in a tight urban setting near an MBTA rail line, which presented a unique challenge that award judges found deserving of recognition.
2. Plymouth State University’s 152nd commencement took place last weekend, which honored 750 graduates and featured a keynote address from PSU alumnus and Boston Bruins anthem singer Todd Angilly. 3. Robert Singer has received the Mary & John Elliot Charitable Foundation’s 2023 Davison Award for Philanthropy in recognition of his life’s work. In 2017, after his son Jordan died of epithelioid sarcoma at age 28, Robert and his family started Jordan’s Dream Fund to help young people shoulder the expenses related to lifesaving cancer trials. Robert also honored his memory via a leadership gift to the Hope is Here Campaign in 2020, which helped expand cancer care at the Solinsky Center for Cancer Care at The Elliot.

6. The Brook, the largest charity casino in the country, gifted $110,457.99 to Executive Director Kathy Beebe and Development Director Karen Pryor from Haven NH, a nonprofit that supports southeastern New Hampshire with violence prevention education, support services and empowerment.
7. The NH Women’s Foundation 6th Annual Gala was held last week, where attendees raised over $91,000 to aid in their mission. Honored that evening were Congresswoman Annie Kuster with the Amplifi-HER Award, along with Trailblazer special guests Ronelle Tshiela, BLM Manchester co-founder (right); JerriAnne Boggis, executive director of the Black Heritage Trail of NH (center); and Elizabeth Hager, reproductive rights champion and sponsor of the state’s equal rights amendment (left).
