1. Baker Newman Noyes, an accounting and advisory firm, celebrated the opening of their new Portsmouth office located at 75 Portsmouth Boulevard. The 6,500-square-foot space was designed to meet the needs of the company’s hybrid workforce, featuring a training and education center, offices and adaptable workspaces. The 30-member team at the firm began using the new space back in December.



2. Bank of America has gifted a $250,000 grant to the Nashua Center for the Arts, expected to open in April. As part of their commitment, the Bank will receive naming rights to the Center’s theater chamber, which has seating for 750 people to accommodate performances such as music, dance, theater, comedy and more. 3. NH LAKES, a nonprofit working to restore and preserve the health of New Hampshire’s lakes, has been named a 2023 Champion in Action by Citizens Bank in the category of Supporting Environmental Sustainability. The award includes $35,000 in unrestricted funding, as well as promotional and volunteer support and media coverage in the NH Union Leader.



4. Granite VNA‘s annual Lights, Life and Memories campaign — which honors passed loved ones and the importance of hospice care — raised nearly $63,000 to support hospice services, and included community remembrance services in Alton, Concord (shown in photo), Meredith, Wakefield, and Wolfeboro. More than 100 people attended the five services which featured music, readings, reflection and remembrance.



5. The NH Small Business Development Center (SBDC) hosted its first ever Inclusivity Commitment and Networking event on January 26 at the Greater Manchester Chamber, where more than 90 small business owners, SBDC clients, community members, local leaders, and partners gathered to celebrate Manchester’s BIPOC business community. With support from the CARES Act and the SBA Community Navigator Pilot Program, SBDC’s Inclusivity Commitment goal is to serve even more BIPOC and New American businesses through individualized business advising and education.



6. The Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) Fund at the NH Charitable Foundation has awarded $124,500 in grant funding to 39 local nonprofits — such as Annie’s Angels, New Beginnings, Arts in Reach, Foster and Adoptive Resource Exchange, among others — including $108,500 donated to 23 agencies and $16,000 to 16 food pantries. 7. Back in September, the UNH Entrepreneurship Center celebrated the opening of the Patten Family Coworking Space, made possible from a $1 million donation by Harry Patten and the Patten Family Foundation, to launch the Patten Sales & Funding Accelerator program. The program will help increase the probability of successful ventures by providing sales coaching and loans for startup founders, available to UNH students and young alumni.
