
1. This past month marked the 110th anniversary of Cornerstone VNA, a nonprofit home health and hospice care organization serving communities in New Hampshire and Maine. For more than a century, Cornerstone VNA has helped families stay together at home, even when facing the challenges of aging, surgical recovery, chronic or life-threatening illnesses or end-of-life care.

2. The NH Charitable Foundation has distributed $3,810,500 in grants through its Community Grants Program to 82 nonprofits around the state, including Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire, Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire, Friends of Aine Foundation, Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention, Grow Nashua (pictured here) and many others.

3. Members First Credit Union recently donated $5,000 to Waypoint, the oldest human services/children’s charitable organization in New Hampshire, to support its emergency shelter for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness in Manchester. 4. The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester (MHCGM) received a $10,000 donation from The Manchester Rotary Club to support children in the community who are victims of trauma. 5. For its third year, NH Healthcare Heroes has recognized seven individuals who exhibit dedication, courage and commitment to the state’s healthcare community, as selected from nominations submitted by colleagues, family, friends and patients. This year’s recipients were: Rachael Fleharty-Strevig, Joint Task Force Command Sergeant Major, NH National Guard; Melissa Dever, Speech Therapist, Golden View Health Care Center; Heather Cotnoir, Head Cook, Maplewood Nursing Home; Becky Bean, Licensed Practical Nurse, Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital; Cheryl Bonar, RN Clinical Preceptor, Cornerstone VNA; Susan Messner, Caregiver, Visiting Angels; and Diana Main, Clinical Nurse Supervisor, Dartmouth Health (pictured).

6. Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) donated $10,000 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Meredith Sculpture Walk, beginning on Meredith’s Main Street through the Town Docks, Hesky Park, Scenic Park and Clough Park along Meredith Bay on Lake Winnipesaukee. 7. ExcellenceNorth Alliance presented the Dr. Sylvio Dupuis Community Excellence Award to the Greater Meredith Community in recognition of its advancement of the area to be a year-round business, recreational and social hub for residents, workforce and visitors. The award honors Dr. Dupuis’ lifelong work to improve communities for the benefit of New Hampshire citizens and families.
