Raude Raychel, left, founder of Indonesia Community Connect in Somersworth, and Amy Bassett, the Small Business Administration’s New Hampshire District director, recently signed an alliance memorandum to better connect the Indonesian community to business resources.

The New Hampshire district of the U.S. Small Business Administration has signed what’s being called a strategic alliance memorandum with the Somersworth organization Indonesia Community Connect.

The goal of the memorandum is to develop a working relationship between the SBA and the organization to connect the Indonesian community to business resources, officials said.

Raude Raychel, president of Indonesia Community Connect, called the memorandum “a historical moment for ICC.” She said the partnership will give ICC “direct access to information resources, facilitate mutual understanding among different cultures and values, and promote the richness of the Indonesian cultural diversity. ICC will be a platform and channel to many local and Indonesian entrepreneurs with interests in small business startups and trade of import/export with Indonesia.”

The goal, Raychel said, is to build “momentum toward a longer vision of an economic and cultural hub, the world’s first Little Indonesia in New Hampshire.

Amy Bassett, the SBA’s district director, said the partnership “affirms our commitment” to provide greater access to SBA’s resources for new entrepreneurs and emerging businesses, adding that “the partnership with the Indonesian community affirms our pledge to addressing barriers that diverse business owners face.”
