FIFTY-SEVEN percent of U.S. adults say travelers on airplanes and public transportation should be required to wear masks, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. Forty-two percent say travelers should not be required to wear masks in these situations. Of those who say masks should be required, 89 percent indicate they’re very concerned they’ll get Covid-19 or need hospitalization. Of those respondents who said masks should not be required, 74 percent are not vaccinated.

ANOTHER Pew Research Center analysis found that seven-in-ten Americans view inflation as a very big problem for the country, followed by the affordability of healthcare (55 percent) and violent crime (54 percent). More than two years into the pandemic, just 19% of Americans rate the coronavirus outbreak as a very big problem for the country. Back in June 2020 during the outbreak’s early stages, 58 percent rated it as a very big problem, placing it among the top concerns at the time.

DURING the height of Covid-19, New Hampshire ranked among the lowest five states for community transmission, according to an analysis by WalletHub. The Granite State ranked at No. 1 for rate of vaccination and at No. 25 for overall safest state during the pandemic.

EMPLOYERS take note: More than four in 10 professionals responding to a Robert Half survey said they plan to quit their job by July 2022 to look for better opportunities. Findings reveal that employees are looking for higher salaries from organizations that live their values, promote diversity and create a strong culture of belonging.

A big driver for employees to look elsewhere for work is workplace stress. More than half (52 percent) of the workers in a Robert Half survey said they were overwhelmed at work on a daily basis, and in another recent survey, 39 percent reported feeling anxiety the night before the start of the work week.
