THE Global Business Travel Association released a survey showing domestic travel is ticking back up, ever so slightly. A poll of 340 travel managers and procurement professionals revealed 55% of business travelers were “somewhat willing” or “very willing” to travel, up from 49% in January. About 25% had already done some domestic traveling, up from 16% in January.

ABOUT 40% of those surveyed by GBTA agreed there should be a corporate policy requiring employees to take a Covid-19 test before traveling and 39% thought there should be a vaccine requirement. Support grew to 58% if airlines were to require proof of vaccination to travel, while 28% disagreed with that step. The majority of respondents (79 percent) say they would be “very comfortable” or “comfortable” traveling for business after receiving the Covid-19 vaccination.

NEARLY two-thirds of Canadian small businesses would consider using rapid testing to screen employees if it would help their business to stay open, says the Canadian Federation of Independent Business. Support for use of rapid testing for employees was strongest in among dentists and chiropractors, at 71%, followed by 69% in the hospitality sector, 68% in wholesale and 66% in construction, personal services such as salons and dry cleaners, and arts and recreation.

JUST 55% of small business owners say they could continue operating for more than a year under the current business conditions, according to a CNBC survey of 2,157 small business owners. Just 22% of U.S. small business owners will require their employees get vaccinated for Covid-19. Twice as many (42%) say they won’t mandate vaccinations.

ANALYTICS company Pepperdata released a new survey the unexpected costs of cloud software adoption. For 2020, one in every three senior enterprise IT professionals said they had spent somewhere between 20% and 40% more than they budgeted, and 64% of respondents cited “cost management and containment” as their main worry when it comes to running cloud big data technologies and applications.
