NBT Bank has opened a new regional commercial banking office at 114 N. Main St., Concord. Merrimack County Savings Bank has purchased $10,000 in tax credits through the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority in support of the Capital Regional Development Council. The investment will go toward CRDC operating costs.

Turf Depot says it will be opening a new location at 30 Londonderry Turnpike in Hooksett before the end of the year. The store will soft open towards the end of 2020. It will be the company’s fifth retail store in southern New Hampshire. Turf Depot originally began as Granz Power Equipment and Stills Power Equipment, with the first Turf Depot opening in Londonderry and a second in Portsmouth.
TECHNOLOGY
SkyTerra Technologies, an IT cloud advisory and development firm, has hired Sean Fiandaca as systems engineer on its managed services team. He will split his time between SkyTerra’s Nashua headquarters and a Boston-based client, the company said.
Portsmouth-based PoliteMail is unveiling a newly enhanced version of its internal communications measurement software, @PoliteMail, that it says now gives internal communications professionals more management and measurement options for messages sent to employees via Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft 365.
QUEL Imaging LLC, a new venture spun out of Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth, has been awarded a $250,000 grant by the National Institutes of Health to further its work in creating low-cost transferable technologies aimed at improving the accuracy of fluorescence surgical guidance and treatments.
Kush Kumar has been named chief revenue officer of Claremontbased IT firm Red River. Kumar, who most recently held the title of vice president of public sector sales, joined Red River in 2011 and has led sales teams that have averaged year over year doubledigit revenue growth, the company said.
Merrimack IT provider Connection Inc. has been awarded the Pro Patria Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, which is given annually to employers that demonstrate support to Guard and Reserve employees through their leadership and practices, including adopting personnel policies that make it easier for employees to participate in the National Guard and Reserve.
L3Harris Technologies has delivered 40 new enhanced night-vision goggles produced at its Londonderry facility, the initial shipment in a $442 million, threeyear contract with the U.S. Army. The ENVG-B goggles feature a new high-resolution display and an embedded soldier wireless personal area network, rapid target acquisition and augmented reality algorithms to interface with the Army’s Nett Warrior system.

Justin Macek has joined TFMoran’s Seacoast office as a civil project engineer. Macek has civil/site engineering experience in both New Hampshire and California, including environmental sampling, stormwater management, hydraulic modeling, parking lot design and construction inspection.

The New Hampshire Liquor Commission has been named one of the top 10 retailers in the country by Beverage Dynamics, the national magazine that covers the off-premise beverage alcohol retail industry, including liquor stores and supermarket chains. The Top 100 Retailers Awards recognize organizations that demonstrate innovation, excellent customer service and superior beverage alcohol industry knowledge.

HEALTHCARE
Dartmouth-Hitchcock has named Dr. Stacie Deiner vice chair for research in the Department of Anesthesiology. Deiner was also recently named the William LeRoy Garth Professor in Medical Science at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.
Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Cheshire Medical Center has received recertification by the QOPI Certification Program LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Association for Clinical Oncology, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. The three-year certification is for outpatient hematology-oncology practices that meet nationally recognized standards for quality cancer care.
Dr. Andrew Kunkemueller has joined Cornerstone VNA as palliative care medical director. He worked as associate hospice medical director at Cornerstone until 2018 before joining Exeter Hospital.
Families First Health and Support Center and Goodwin Community Health Center have received recognition as level three patient-centered medical homes from the National Committee for Quality Assurance, the highest level of recognition by the NCQA.
The National Academy of Medicine has selected Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health CEO Joanne M. Conroy as a regular member of the organization. Election to the academy recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center was recently awarded $499,000 by the Health Resources and Services Administration to use telehealth services to expand care for women with substance use disorders throughout their pregnancies and after birth. The funds will be used to work with community organizations that will facilitate referrals for pregnant patients, coordinate prenatal care and postpartum treatment, and integrate behavioral healthcare through telehealth nested in DHMC’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.

The Valley Inn in Waterville Valley recently became part of Choice Hotels International Inc.’s Ascend Hotel Collection, a global portfolio of resort, boutique and historic hotels. The Valley Inn is a 44-room hotel offering accommodations ranging from standard rooms with two queen-sized beds to townhouses with kitchenettes.

Hooksett-based Merchants Fleet was recently named to the Greater Boston Best and Brightest Companies to Work For list.

Swedish Defense and security company Saab AB has signed a threeyear contract with XMReality of Portsmouth for its Remote Guidance system, an artificial reality-enabled tool that lets the user communicate with gestures, speech, chat and pointers with someone at a completely different place. The initial order value is approximately $180,000, XMReality said.

Realty ONE Group, a franchise real estate business based out of Las Vegas, has expanded into New Hampshire as it continues to sell franchises at a record pace in the Granite State and 44 other states as well as Washington, D.C. and Canada. The company sold 21 franchises in the third quarter, with 61 sold so far this year.

Cynthia McNickle has been named chief financial officer of the YMCA of Greater Nashua. She previously was finance director of the Hudson School District and held a variety of senior-level finance and accounting positions in the tech industry and for defense contractors. Lakes Region Community Developers recently completed renovations on Ames Brook Apartments, a 40-unit apartment complex located on Ledgewood Lane in Ashland. Working with Stewart Associates Architects, NorthPoint Engineering and North Branch Construction, the renovation transformed the property inside and out, improving safety, accessibility, ventilation, energy efficiency and aesthetics. Ames Brook Apartments is managed by The Hodges Companies of Concord, which has provided third-party property management services for LRCD for 13 years.
The Monadnock United Way and The Local Crowd have launched Better Together: Building Equitable Communities in the Monadnock Region, a campaign that runs through Nov. 13. In that time, all gifts given to The Local Crowd’s crowdfunding platform will benefit Monadnock United Way’s Better Together annual campaign.

The Currier Museum of Art, Manchester, has received CARES Act funding to support veterans, active service members and their families negatively impacted during the Covid-19 pandemic. The money has been allocated by the state government through Swim With A Mission, a Bedford-based nonprofit organization that raises money for veteran service organizations. The New Hampshire Electric Co-op Foundation has awarded 10 grants totaling $47,998 to nonprofits supporting residents throughout New Hampshire.

Merrimack County Savings Bank has purchased $15,000 in tax credits through the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority in support of Making Matters NH’s plans of expanding equipment and lab space to better serve the Greater Concord community. Making Matters operates 8,500 square feet of makerspace and shared workspace in Penacook at the previously vacant Beede Electric Building.
Liberty House, which provides sober housing and various services for homeless and struggling veterans, recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new 2,000-squarefoot Center for Veterans in Manchester.
The center will provide both program residents and local community veterans with a dedicated large gathering space for community programs, recovery meetings, job skills seminars, financial counseling sessions, recreational activities, an expanded food and clothing pantry, and other services.
Newington-based FedPoint has become a corporate sponsor of Step Up Parents, which offers financial assistance to kinship caregivers throughout New Hampshire who are raising children who have a parent struggling with substance use disorder.

Family Promise of Southern New Hampshire has opened its new location at the former Infant Jesus School building in Nashua. The new space will provide transitional housing to more than 25 families, doubling the organization’s previous capacity.

Attorney Amanda Quinlan has rejoined McLane Middleton after spending 2019-20 clerking at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for Justice Scott Kafker.
Attorney James J. Steinkrauss has joined Rath, Young and Pignatelli as a member of the Environmental Practice Group. Prior to joining the firm, he served as deputy general counsel with the Boston Water and Sewer Commission.
