ACCOUNTING


Concord-based Nathan Wechsler & Company has announced the promotion of CPA Ashley Major to senior manager. In addition, the firm has announced the promotion of CPA Amanda Brendell to manager. It also has promoted Samantha Henrichon, Maria Laperle and Heather Murphy. All of whom have been with the firm since 2017.

ENGINEERING

Michael Hammer has joined TFMoran as survey department manager in the firm’s Bedford office. A licensed land surveyor in New Hampshire and a professional land surveyor in Massachusetts, he has over 30 years of survey experience in commercial, residential and municipal projects.

EVR Advertising has added the Bassett Healthcare Network to its roster of healthcare clients. Bassett is an integrated healthcare system that provides care and services to people living in a nine-county region in central New York.

Shaheen & Gordon has hired Danielle Pomeroy as an associate attorney in the Litigation Practice Group.

She will work out of the firm’s Dover office.

Attorney Sarah Koelling has joined Sulloway & Hollis, Concord, as an associate. She will be working with a broad base of clients, focusing on business, corporate and real estate law.

Monica Marcotte, a corporate paralegal at Cleveland, Waters and Bass in Concord for over 30 years, has won the 2020 Paralegal Professionalism Award from the Paralegal Association of New Hampshire.

Dennehy & Bouley, a public affairs firm based in Concord, has acquired Cornerstone Association Management, also in Concord.

Cornerstone, founded as The Richard H. Clough Company in 1975, provides association management services to a wide range of state and regional nonprofit organizations. Dennehy & Bouley which has provided lobbying, grassroots strategies, government procurement efforts, public relations services and association management to organizations since 2008 — has formed DB Management, a new division to offer comprehensive association management services.

Power Up Generator Service Company, Auburn, has hired Andrew Royce as generator rental manager. He has 20 years of experience in the power generation industry and also holds a New Hampshire Master Electrician’s license.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Wendy Bagley has joined Optisure Risk Partners, Manchester, as a personal lines and private client account executive. She has over 30 years of experience in the industry, most recently serving as a client advisor and account manager at various agencies in the Lakes Region.

Misty deRochemont of New Boston has been promoted to branch relationship manager at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust’s location in Manchester. She has more than 14 years of banking experience, including working at Citizens Bank and People’s United Bank.

BankProv has hired Kyle Hingher as vice president of digital assets. He previously worked at Metropolitan Commercial Bank as director of new products.

Michael Heffernan of Windham has joined New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp as lending compliance officer, overseeing compliance management for NHMB’s sister banks Meredith Village Savings Bank, Merrimack County Savings Bank and Savings Bank of Walpole.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust was recently named a recipient of the Independent Community Bankers of America’s 2020 National Community Bank Service Award for its efforts to help small businesses, consumers and their communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS

The national office of SCORE has recognized Merrimack Valley NH SCORE for outstanding client education in 2020. The award recognizes the chapter’s achievement of excellence through workshops in support of local small businesses. The Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce has added two board members: Joanna Bramer, owner of Lighthouse Advisory; and Kelly Hutchinson, vice president, branch manager of Kennebunk Savings’ Stratham branch.

Newburyport Bank has donated $1,000 to the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce. The funds will be used to offset losses due to the pandemic.

HOSPITALITY

Burlington, Mass.- based AAM 15 Management LLC has opened its 10th hotel, the 123-room Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Downtown, across the street from the SNHU Arena. “The development of the Manchester property allows us to be part of the reemergence of the greater community as shown by the overall growth of the business environment,” said David R. Masse, founder and CEO of AAM, adding that his firm will consider future projects in the state going forward.

CONSTRUCTION

DECCO Inc. has dedicated its Center for Craft Excellence in Brookline in memory of partner Tim Barton, who died in June. He was a member of DEC- CO’s board of directors and executive vice president responsible for recruiting, retention and training for the company’s workforce. The Tim Barton Center for Craft Excellence provides space for the further development of individuals who wish to pursue a career in construction, offering an apprentice program and experiential learning opportunities.

Sullivan Construction of Bedford is being recognized by the New Hampshire/Vermont chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors for its work on Catholic Medical Center’s Vein & Viscose Specialties facility in Bedford. The project received a Merit Award in the Institutional/Public category. Working with Sullivan Construction was project architect Lavallee Brensinger.

REAL ESTATE

Arhaus, a national retailer specializing in handcrafted home furnishings, will be opening a 15,000-squarefoot store — its first in New Hampshire — in the spring of 2021 at the Tuscan Village project Salem. Founded in 1986, Ohio-based Arhaus operates over 70 locations. The roster of retailers taking space at Tuscan Village includes L.L. Bean, Ulta Beauty, Old Navy, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Chase Bank, Drive Custom Fit, Pressed Café and Tuscan Market.

Lisa Crossman of Loudon has joined the Meredith office of Roche Realty Group, the company has announced. NAI Norwood Group has announced the sale of 452 Sunapee St., Newport — a 40,000-square-foot industrial-manufacturing property formerly occupied by Gloenco Inc. — for $835,000 to Progressive Manufacturing, a manufacturer of fireplace inserts and other products that is currently based in West Lebanon but will be moving its operations to Newport. The property consists of a 32,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and a 7,700-squarefoot warehouse.

Aron Brown and Karl Norwood assisted the seller, AFG Inc., and Liam McCarthy represented Progressive in the transaction.

HEALTHCARE

Dr. Jenny LaBudde, an obstetrician/gynecologist, has joined the staff of the Women’s Health and Family Birthing Center practices at Memorial Hospital in North Conway.

Nurse practitioner Carolyn Brown has joined the staff at Memorial Hospital’s Mt. Washington Valley Rural Health Care practice in North Conway.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nashua has added Dr. John “Terry” Buchanan, a family medicine physician for over two decades, to its team of primary care providers. He previously worked at Foundation Medical Partners in Nashua. The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hematology/ Oncology Department has been awarded the 2020 Press Ganey Pinnacle of Excellence Award for Patient Experience, which recognizes institutions that have maintained consistently high levels of excellence in patient experience over a three-year period.


A new medical practice, Concord Hospital Vascular Surgery, has been opened by Concord Hospital. The practice is part of Concord Hospital Cardiovascular Institute, formerly known as Concord Hospital Center for Cardiac Care. Its specialists see patients in the new Memorial Medical Office Building West on the Concord Hospital campus and at 85 Spring St. in Laconia. The team includes Drs. Samuel Aldridge, Reshma Duffy, Marc A. Camacho and Eric M. Dyson and nurse practitioner Pamela Meyer.

FOOD AND AGRICULTURE

Seabrook-based Smoky Quartz Distillery has been selected as a winner in the 2020 USA Today 10 Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest for Best Craft Rum Distillery. The distillery has won multiple spirit awards, including the New Hampshire Spirit Distillery of the Year, American Craft Spirits and The San Francisco Craft Spirit Awards for its V5 Bourbon, Granite Coast Rum and Granite Coast Anejo Rum. The distillery also produces gluten-free spirits, including Solids Granite Vodka and Granite Lighting Moonshine with 100% corn mash.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded a $14,272 Rural Energy for America Program grant to Patch Forest LLC, Lebanon, which will use it to implement a reverse osmosis machine into its sugaring operation.

Sazerac of New Hampshire, a distilled spirits bottling facility in Londonderry, has changed its name to Granite State Distilling.

NONPROFITS

Merrimack County Savings Bank has purchased $15,000 in tax credits through the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority to the NH Water Works Association. The Bank’s investment will go toward the NHWWA’s efforts to engage their directors, partners and members to identify and address the critical needs of NH’s water supply.

St. Joseph Community Services has named Kristin Kostecki of Amherst vice president.

She previously worked at Curriculum Associates. Newburyport Bank has donated $2,500 as a sponsor of the New Hampshire SPCA’s Auction for the Animals, a fundraising gala to be held on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Alene Candles is seeking nominations for its Milford Luminaries program, honoring leaders who have helped their community during the pandemic. As part of the program, each of four people honored will be able to direct a $1,000 donation from Alene to an area nonprofit.

Nominations are due by Oct. 16 and can be submitted at alene.com/milfordluminaries.

Deborah A. DeBeradinis-Reichheld of Nashua has been named as a new member of Senior Living of Bedford’s board of trustees. Senior Living of Bedford is a nonprofit formed to oversee construction and management of Bowman Place at Olde Bedford, a new assisted living and memory care community. DeBeradinis-Reichheld is a boardcertified orthodontist and began Amherst Orthodontics over 30 years ago.

GOVERNMENT

The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently granted $7.29 million and lent $5.73 million to the town of Epping to help it implement a renewable energy system at its wastewater treatment facility. The initiative will feature a new solar field to replace wastewater lagoons. The USDA also recently granted $956,000 to the Woody Hollow Cooperative in Boscawen, NH to improve its drinking water infrastructure. The New Hampshire Liquor Commission has announced it will relocate its New London NH Liquor & Wine Outlet to a standalone location in the New London Shopping Center at 293 Newport Rd.

The 6,300-square-foot outlet will replace the existing outlet currently located in the same plaza. Construction is set to begin this month with opening planned for spring 2021.

Franklin Savings Bank has donated $5,000 to the Tilton Police Department toward construction of its new facility located at 45 Sanborn Rd. Construction is underway, and the new facility is slated to be complete by the end of the year.

MANUFACTURING

SPUR Acquisitions, a newly formed private equity firm in Portsmouth, has made its first acquisition, purchasing Allen Datagraph Systems Inc. of Salem, manufacturer of digital label systems and stone templating machines for customers in over 40 countries. The firm will be led by Kevin Davis, SPUR operating partner. Alex Wright, previous owner and president of ADSI, will remain a board member in the new venture.

TECHNOLOGY

B2W Software of Portsmouth, a provider of heavy construction management software, says it has enhanced change order management capabilities in its B2W Estimate application. The firm says the new functionality makes it easier and faster for estimators to add, modify and track change orders directly within an original estimate.
