LAW


The law firm of McLane Middleton has announced the hiring of attorneys Ellen L. Arnold of Rye and Hanna May. Arnold most recently was director of real estate and associate general counsel at Dartmouth College, and prior to her work there was a chair for McLane Middleton’s Land Use Practice Group. May, a Manchester resident, joins the firm as an associate in the Litigation Department and represents clients in a wide variety of litigation matters.

The Manchester-based firm of Craig & Gatzoulis, Attorneys at Law has announced its merger with The Law Office of Thomas Craig, also of Manchester. The firms both specialize in personal injury and criminal defense matters. “This firm began litigating injury law in 1928 with William Craig, Sr., and will continue into the future,” said Thomas Craig. The new firm will continue to be named Craig & Gatzoulis, Attorneys at Law, PLLC.

GOVERNMENT

The towns of Fremont and Wilton have received 2020 AARP Community Challenge grants. In Fremont, the grant will be used to construct a ramp with railings that will allow safe and full accessibility to the town’s Memorial Park Ballfields. In Wilton, the grant will be used to build an ADA-compliant walkway along the bank of the Stony Brook River to provide river access and a connection to a veterans’ Memorial Park and the downtown core.

A $250,000 U.S. Department of Agriculture grant has been awarded to DCI Sustainable Hardwood Furniture of Lisbon for a combined heatand-power biomass boiler that is projected to provide an annual energy savings estimated to be $390,000.

USDA Rural Development awarded the grant through its Rural Energy for America Program.

TECHNOLOGY

Kelly Stepura has joined Echo Group, a provider of electronic health record software for the behavioral health industry, as chief clinical innovation officer. Stepura previously worked at OmniCare Institute, where she partnered with agencies to incorporate data science, outcome measurement and machine learning techniques to inform decisions.

Connection, the Merrimack-based IT provider, has been named a 2019 HP Inc. Partner of the Year, an honor that recognizes topperforming partners for exemplary achievements in growth and innovation. Connection was named an HP U.S. Personal Systems National Solution Provider of the Year Award. The company also has won the Microsoft U.S. Partner Award — Other — Surface PC for leadership in customer impact, solution innovation, deployment and exceptional use of advanced features in Microsoft technologies over the past year.

Newington-based Daystar has been named one of the world’s best small and medium-sized business managed service providers on the new annual Channel Futures SMB Hot 101 rankings for 2020. The list was based on product offerings, annual total and recurring revenues, profits, revenue mix, growth opportunities, and company and customer demographic information.

ADVERTISING AND MARKETING

Vickie Routhier of Strafford, who for 18 years served as director of marketing in the financial services sector, has launched Sebright Marketing Solutions, which she says delivers full-service agency capabilities with scalable solutions. Prior to launching Sebright, Routhier managed marketing for a $1.5 billion bank and a 24-branch retail banking network with more than 130 employees. She also has managed communication plans facilitating several mergers and acquisitions, as well as system conversions.

Concord-based Pine and Bars Co. and BUILD Construction Marketing Agency have announced their creation of Fox Ellis Agency. Pine and Bars provided marketing services for clients across several industries, including Eisbär, a ski fashion company; L’Oreal Paris, the care company; and Revival Kitchen & Bar, a farmto-table New Hampshire restaurant. BUILD focused on servicing clients across the construction industry, including Metro Walls in Manchester and Benchmark Kitchen and Bath, a kitchen and bath showroom in Massachusetts.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Stephen Murray of Brookline has joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust as vice president, treasury sales officer. In this role, he will provide commercial banking customers in southern New Hampshire with cash management services. Stephen has more than 18 years of experience in the banking industry.

Elise Cushing has been promoted to assistant vice president, business development officer at Meredith Village Savings Bank. She will be working out of the bank’s office in downtown Plymouth.

Joyce Kelley has joined St. Mary’s Bank as senior business services officer. She has over 27 years of retail banking and business development experience, most recently working as a store manager for TD Bank in Nashua.

Lori-Ann Bolduc of Franklin has been promoted to branch manager of Franklin Savings Bank’s Tilton office at 67 Laconia Rd. She most recently was a retail trainer for the bank.

CONSTRUCTION

North Branch Construction, Concord, recently completed construction at the Londonderry Central Fire Station in Londonderry. The two-phased project involved renovation of the existing station and two additions, including a 4,620-squarefoot addition housing a new entrance lobby, Regional Dispatch Center, administrative offices, break room, conference room, and a training room, and a two-story operations addition. Port One Architects of Portsmouth provided design for this project.

Ground was broke recently at The Founders Academy in Manchester for the school’s sixth grade expansion project. When completed, the new space will add four new classrooms, office/meeting space for students and teachers, storage, lockers, and outdoor access for sixth graders in new wing. Northpoint Construction Management of Hudson is in charge of the construction, which is slated to be completed at the end of October.

BUSINESS AND CONSUMER SERVICES

West Lebanon-based SOLAS, a designer and builder of hearth products, has hired Lori Decato-Metz as marketing communications manager. Decato-Metz previously worked as a creative marketing professional for regional and global brands, including Timberland, Eastern Mountain Sports, ECCO and Bauer Hockey.

Polaris Direct, Hooksett, has hired Mary Butterman as strategic marketing services account manager, Chrissy Cordiero as account coordinator and Mary Gormley as account manager.

BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS

The Greater Dover of Chamber of Commerce will be teaming with the city of Dover in offering the 2020 Eastern Bank Citizens Leadership Academy in October. The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its annual Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year and Nonprofit of the Year awards. Any individual, company or organization in the eight communities served by the chamber — Atkinson, Auburn, Chester, Derry, Hampstead, Londonderry, Sandown and Windham — can be nominated. The awards will be presented at the chamber’s annual dinner on Thursday, Oct. 22.

HEALTHCARE

Catholic Medical Center has named Dr. Michael Gilbert as its new vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer. In addition, CMC’s medical staff has elected Dr. Patricia Furey as its new president, the first woman in CMC history to be elected to the post. Gilbert most recently worked at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Concord, where he was medical director of the clinic. Furey has been a member of the CMC medical community for over 17 years.

Concord Hospital Therapeutic Arts and Holistic Services has been awarded a $7,500 Arts in Health grant from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. The funds will be used to provide additional therapeutic music support for patients in or at risk of delirium.

Cornerstone VNA, a provider of home health and hospice care, has named Tammy Crooks-Faulkingham as its new hospice care director.

Southern New Hampshire Health, Nashua, has opened the state’s first hospital-affiliated neuromusculoskeletal medicine practice, Musculoskeletal Medicine at Merrimack Medical Center. The practice is led by neuromusculoskeletal medicine specialist Dr. James Sullivan.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center’s Men’s Health Center has been designated as the first Center of Excellence in the United States for GreenLight Laser Therapy treatment, a minimally invasive outpatient procedure for men looking to treat their benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition in which a man’s prostate enlarges and squeezes the urethra. DHMC said GreenLight Therapy can help provide immediate relief from enlarged prostate symptoms.

EDUCATION

Concord Hospital has announced a partnership with Granite State College that it says will provide a significant tuition discount to all hospital employees wishing to pursue associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees and master’s certificates at the college. Additionally, participants in the Surgical Technologist Training Program at the hospital will be eligible to receive up to 30 credits toward their associate or bachelor’s degree at Granite State College.

Great Bay Community College-Rochester has opened a new welding lab to provide additional training opportunities and meet hiring needs in the state. The new lab houses 14 six-foot-wide, selfcontained welding cells with ventilation geared to individual health and safety. The facility enables the program to safely triple the number of students in the program, which will prepare 42 new welders to join the workforce annually, officials said.

ENERGY

Clean Energy NH will present its 12th annual Local Solutions Conference as a virtual event Oct. 29-30. Featured this year will be keynote speaker Katharine Wilkinson of Project Drawdown. The conference will also feature panelists of energy executives representing international, regional and statewide companies. ENGINEERING

Appledore Marine Engineering, Portsmouth, has been awarded a five-year, $15 million contract by the U.S. Navy for waterfront inspection services in Region 4, which includes naval bases in Washington, Oregon and Alaska, Lake Pend Oreille in Northern Idaho and all Pacific U.S. territories, including Guam, American Samoa, Wake and Midway Islands. The work includes underwater and above-water inspections, material condition assessments on the waterfront structures and engineering and design services.

NONPROFITS

Spaulding Youth Center, Northfield, has named Daniel M. Walulik of Amherst, chief financial officer at Acceleration Partners, Needham, Mass., to its board of directors.

Meredith Village Savings Bank has purchased $25,000 in tax credits through the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority in support of the Makers Mill makerspace project in Wolfeboro. These funds will support the organization’s goal of being a dedicated makerspace and collaborative work space for making, learning, exploring, and sharing.

Spaulding Youth Center of Northfield has rebranded as Spaulding Academy & Family Services, a new name for an organization that has served children and families for 150 years. Spaulding Academy focuses on the special education school that offers a robust curriculum for both residential and day students.

Spaulding Family Services focuses on the programs and services offered via communitybased programs. In addition, Spaulding has announced the addition of Michael Flaherty, president and CEO of Taylor Community, to its board of directors.

David Grappone has been named to a threeyear term on Neighbor-Works Southern New Hampshire’s board of directors. Grappone, who has been involved with the nonprofit as a volunteer for several years, is a commercial agent with Keller Williams Metropolitan Realty in Bedford. In 2012, Grappone helped broker the purchase of 801 Elm St. in Manchester, a two-floor building where Neigh borWorks’ primary offices are located.

Meredith Village Savings Bank has purchased $10,000 in tax credits through the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority to Lakes Center for the Arts’ goal of creating an incubator for the arts in the area. The center hopes to preserve and repurpose the former 35,000-square-foot Annalee Doll factory in Meredith.

Heather Milliken of Salem and Beth Salvi-Hudgins of Exeter have joined the board of YWCA New Hampshire. Milliken is Cigna Behavioral Health’s product strategy director. Salvi-Hudgins, is a clinical social worker in private practice who works with teens and young adults to overcome trauma.

Rusty Mosca, manager director of the Concord-based accounting firm of Nathan Wechsler & Company, has been reelected to the board of directors of Amoskeag Health. He has served on the organization’s board since February 2018.

REAL ESTATE

Bedford Design Consultants, a civil engineering and land surveying firm, has purchased a new office at 592 Harvey Rd. in Manchester, near Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. Ronald Fredette of Keller Williams was instrumental in the purchase of the property.
